Indications

Mimiker is indicated to improve the regulation of glycaemia, as a protective factor in some specific types of peripheral neuritis, such as the carpal tunnel syndrome or sciatica; it can also be used with benefit by sportspeople to facilitate post-workout muscle recovery.

Take 1 tablet daily before meals. For its usefulness in sports, it can also be taken after exercise together with carbohydrates and proteins.

Properties

Mimiker contains important nutritional factors involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism.

It is in the form of gastro-protected tablets as otherwise the lipoic acid would hardly pass through the stomach.

Alpha lipoic acid is an essential enzymatic cofactor present in the tissues, where it has antioxidant functions both in its oxidised and reduced form.

It intervenes in the synthesis of glutathione, guarantees the functionality of vitamin E, and participates in the production of energy at the level of a fundamental enzyme, the pyruvate decarboxylase, which catalyses the passage from glycolysis to Krebs cycle, boosting the availability of energy.

Its antioxidant activity consists in protecting the nerve fibres, which is why it is employed in the treatment of various neuropathies: diabetic, retinal and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Together with chromium picolinate, it is involved in the regulation of glycaemia by influencing a plasmatic factor, the GTF (Glucose Tolerance Factor), which regulates and boosts the activity of insulin.

Lipoic acid is considered an “insulin-like” factor because it increases insulin sensitivity in the muscle tissue instead of the adipose tissue.

Mimiker can therefore be used in case of insulin resistance. Thanks to this property, it facilitates the storage of glycogen, the synthesis of proteins and an increased use of fats for energy purposes.

Several studies, also conducted on humans, confirm its potential in reducing fatty deposits.

It is used by sportspeople to facilitate muscle recovery and, after the workout, it is associated to simple sugars and creatine.

For this reason, alpha lipoic acid and chromium have been employed as natural hypoglycaemic agents in many experimental studies.

The extract of Lagerstroemia speciosa (Banaba), to which several scientific studies attribute significant hypoglycaemic properties, inhibits the differentiation of adipose cells, thus facilitating the reduction of fatty deposits in the organism.
