Indications

Ipolipid is indicated as an adjuvant in the cure of dyslipidaemia, associated with high levels of LDL cholesterol.

Take 1 tablet a day, on a full stomach, preferably in the evening before bedtime.

Properties

Ipolipid comes in a new nutraceutical combination effective to correct dyslipidaemia - an alteration of the blood lipid profile -, one of the main risk factors in coronary heart disease, still recognised as one of the main causes of death in industrialised countries.

The fermented red rice extract is titrated in monacolins, statin-like substances capable of inhibiting the activity of specific enzymes involved in the endogenous synthesis of cholesterol, especially of the fraction associated with low-density lipoproteins (LDL, “bad cholesterol”).

Statins are the active ingredient of choice among synthesised anti-cholesterol drugs.

Those contained in red rice have the same effectiveness in smaller doses, possibly thanks to the phytocomplex’s presence.

This peculiarity allows Ipolipid to have reduced side effects if compared with statins, especially myopathy and hepatic alteration.

Berberine, a substance present in several plants including Berberis aristata (Indian barberry), improves the GLUT4 receptors’ sensitivity to insulin, contributing to reducing and stabilising the synthesis of LDL fatty acids in favour of healthy high-density lipoproteins (HDL).

Due to this, berberine is particularly effective in diabetic patients, which lipid and glucose profiles normally result altered.

The one present limit for the use of berberine is its reduced oral bioavailability.

The association of berberine with silymarin, contained in the extract of milk thistle, improves its oral bioavailability and therefore increases its clinical efficacy.

Clinical studies have indeed demonstrated that this combination actually results more effective than berberine only.

The formula is completed by the presence of coenzyme Q10 in the form of water-soluble and highly absorbable ubiquinol, which endogenous production results partially blocked in subjects who take statins.

Such deficiency causes the side effects of statins and fermented red rice itself.
